Technology Group, Inc. & Archive the Goods
- How do
they do that?!?!
- Archive the Goods
sits quietly on your computer just watching the
clock. It then “Wakes Up”
at a predetermined time, (usually at night).
- Next it “Scans”
your computer for the folders, files and files
types you have selected and readies them for backup.
- Next it “Verifies”
that what it is backing up, matches exactly what
is on your computer.
- Next it “Compresses”
the data. Depending on the file type, compression
can be as high as 75-90%!! (Many graphics, video,
music and CAD files are already compressed, so
their compression is less.)
- Next it “Encrypts”
the data using the encryption method chosen. Only
you have the Encryption Key to
recover the data. We can’t access it in
any way. DO NOT LOOSE YOUR ENCRYPTION
KEY!!!!
- Finally it “Transmits”
the data over the Internet to our servers at Arizona
Technology Group, Inc.
- Now your data is Offsite, Safe, Secure,
& Available, all Automatically.
Archive the Goods Encryption
While the client software is preconfigured to use
Blowfish Encryption, Archive the Goods offers various
other Encryption Standards.
- DES is the old US Federal Standard
- TDES is a much more secure form of DES
- Blowfish is probably the most secure of all.
It uses a key length that is variable from four
bits to 448 bits.
- AES is the new US Federal Standard. Archive
the Goods supports three levels of AES from 128
bits to 256 bits. 256 bit AES is very secure,
but it is also slow.
Where does my data actually
go?
Arizona Technology Group, Inc. (ATG) is located
just outside Phoenix, AZ. The climate here is hot
and dry with very little rain. We are located away
from flood plains when it does actually rain. We
are not in any active seismic fault areas. Our PowerEdge
Servers by Dell are located below ground in a climate
controlled space, monitored 24/7 and have battery
backups, or Uninterrupted Power Supplies, (UPS).
We also have generators in case of a long term power
outage. We backup our servers daily and move the
media, (DVD/CD/Hard Drives) to a safe deposit box.
So, we practice what we preach by moving our, (read,
your ) data Off Site. Remember, all we do is store
bits and bytes, ones and zeros. We cannot access
your backup data at all. There is no backdoor or
Master Encryption Key(s). Your data cannot
be viewed, decrypted, or used in any way without
the key.
